I hope you have all had a good Easter break and are ready to get back to tri club this term. Our first mini series event is the duathlon on Wednesday the 3rd May. A duathlon begins with a run, then moves onto a bike section and then finishes with a final run section. So this is a run-bike-run event. We hope to start racing at 6pm.
Registration will take place at the sports centre at Netherhall School, Maryport, from 5.15 pm to 5.45pm. Here you will be given a number for your bike and a race number for your trisuit/t shirt. The race is split into categories as defined by British Triathlon and all ages are taken on 31st Dec 2017.
Tristar Start – aged 8
Tristar 1 – aged 9-10
Tristar 2 – aged 11-12
Tristar 3 – aged 13-14
Youth – aged 15-16
Entry fee is £3 (payable on the day) and you need to email me by Friday the 28th of April, to let me know if your child/children are entering. My email address is martinvarey@yahoo.com please put “tri juniors entry” in the title. In the entry email please put your childs/childrens name, DOB, Category and age as of 31 Dec 2017.
Race distances will be slightly less than the maximum guidelines set out by British Triathlon and adjusted to fit the distance of our laps on the field at Netherhall.
All those racing will require, trainers, shorts and t-shirt or a trisuit, a road worthy bike and a helmet, no helmet no racing.
